The Rolls-Royce Trent 700 last night (May 31, 2018) completed its 50 millionth flying hour.

A team watched the milestone tick over at Rolls-Royce’s Airline Aircraft Availability Centre in Derby, UK which monitors Rolls-Royce engines 24 hours a day.

The Trent 700 was the first member of the Trent engine family and more than 1,600 of the engines are in service today, representing 36% of all installed Rolls-Royce engines on widebody aircraft.

Service entry of its successor, the Trent 7000, on the A330neo is due later this year.
