Airbus has today, April 10, 2018, launched an unmanned air vehicle (UAV) designed to undertake autonomous aircraft inspections.

The Advanced Inspection Drone is designed to help maintenance providers accelerate the process of visually checking airliners.

High-quality pictures captured using an on-board camera will be transferred to a PC database for detailed analysis.

The new system will be available in the fourth quarter of 2018 following regulatory approval.
